US Customs Enforcement Actions

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has the authority to seize an aircraft for suspected violations of Customs laws or other laws enforced by the CBP, including the Drug Enforcement Administration. If an aircraft is seized, timely action is essential. Once a Seizure Notice is received, there are thirty days to respond with a Petition. Properly framing that Petition is vital to protecting the right to respond and avoiding forfeiture.
